The HD have done nothing to advance the RPG genre this gen except bring pretier graphics so i'll be happy to give square the chance to see if they can advance the genre with a next gen control system.

There is absolutely no way a company can know exactly how many units have been sold at the millions of stores around the world. Thats why tracking services like NPD, Media Create and GFK exist to estimate sales.

Sony have stated many times they aim to break even on the ps3 next year and their financials confirm this as the ps2 and psp profits help to cover teh ps3 losses. If the ps3 has been profitable for nearly a year it would have seen a pricecut by now.

YES you are missing something because the 360 is now on course to finish in 2nd place this year. The ps3 outsold the 360 from jan -sep until the 360's pricecut and now the roles have reversed. Right now the 360 is about 300K behind the ps3 for this year but is outselling it by around 300K-500K a week as we come into the busy part of the year where most games consoles are sold.

Is this talking about the US only? I have no time to read it. If so then a price slash for the ps3 won't destroy the 360 in the US it will just help it compete.
A worldwide price slash will help the PS3 retake the 360 in weekly WW sales. The ps3 really needs a price cut in Europe especially as the 360 re-took sony there last week. A price cut here with GT5 and things will be much more rosy for the ps3.

Theres not many left now. At the height of its popularity the ps2 managed 1.3 million in november. Nintendo has broken that record with 2 consoles in the same month! Say what you like about nintendo but who'd have thought it.
